Bertha "Buddy" Ruhe Evans Obituary (1931 - 2017)

Bertha "Buddy" Ruhe Evans, of Greeneville, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at Takoma Regional Hospital. Mrs. Evans was a member of Central Baptist Church. She is survived by her children and their spouses, James Evans, of Greeneville, , Susan and Jakie Christy, of Greeneville, John and Cindy Evans, of Pensacola, FL, Mary and Edward Turner, of Greeneville, Robert, Jr. and Jessica Evans, of Greeneville, foster, child, Wade McMillian, of Greeneville; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Iris Myers, of OH; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Evans; sister, Belva Richie. The family will receive friends Monday, April 10, 2017 from 1-3pm & 5-7pm at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow visitation in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Brad Higgins officiating. The graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2017 at 10am at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Christy, Randy Christy, Hunter Christy, Josh Brooks, Matthew Evans, and Carl Soelle. Honorary pallbearers are Aiden Christy, Luis Turner, and Antonio Turner. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Central Baptist Church Radio Station, 100 Bobby Avenue, Greeneville, TN 37743.
