Estil Lee Coffie Obituary (1937 - 2017)

Estil Lee Coffie, 79, of the South Central Community, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He retired from General Shale Brick in Johnson City, after 33 years of service. He attended Mount Odell Freewill Baptist Church in Embreville, TN. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a woodsman and was very knowledgeable about plants and roots and loved picking wild edibles, especially the Morrel Mushrooms and Ginseng. He loved TN Football and the Lady Vols. He had many family members and friends in the community. He is survived by his son, Wade Coffie, of Greeneville, TN; daughter, Sharon Coffie, of Erwin, TN; 2 brothers, Kenneth Coffie and his wife, Ginette and Paul Coffie, both of the South Central Community; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" and Bessie Coffie; 6 brothers, Sam "S.J.", Billy, Henry, Frank, and Charles Coffie; 1 sister, Louise Broyles Garland. Friends and family are invited to attend a brief memorial service at 2pm, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Mt. Carmel UM Church, Hwy. 107, Chuckey, TN, in the South Central Community.
