Nancy Smelcer Easterly Obituary (2018)

On Thursday, May 24, 2018, Nancy Smelcer Easterly, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ. She is survived by: her children and grandchildren: Bill and Diane Easterly, Carla and Alan Haffcke, Alex and Will Haffcke, Jane Lloyd, Joseph Lloyd, Shannon DeMarco and Makenna; brother and sister-in-law: William and Anne Smelcer; several nieces and nephews. Nancy had a group of very close friends that met every Friday. Nancy was preceded in death by: her parents: Charles P. and Lela Easterly Smelcer; husband: I.J. Easterly; three sisters: Jean Eggert, Lois Lozier, and Lucille Pierce; one brother: Frank Smelcer; son-in-law: Harold Lloyd. She attended Greeneville High School. After high school, she worked in Washington D.C. as a messenger for the F.B.I. She worked at Pet Milk Company of Greeneville and then with the Greeneville City School System. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2PM at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Melinda Strum, who was a close friend of Nancy's.
