Roy Logan Balding, Jr. Obituary (1928 - 2017)

Roy Logan Balding, 88, of the Doty's Chapel Community, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at his home. He was in the Baileyton class of 1947, a retired dairy farmer and a member of Fairview CP Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Balding; sons, Bobby Eugene Balding, Robert L. Balding and his wife, Jill S. Hinkle Balding; daughter, Emma Ham and her husband, Patrick Ham; grandchildren, Rebecca C. Balding, and Logan William Balding; sisters, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Holland, of Knoxville, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Baxter, of Lewisburg; special niece, Connie Holland; sisters in law and brothers in law, Patsy and Hurbert Waddle, Deborah and Earl Bible, of Greeneville, Emma Lou and Otis Haney, of Tusculum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Kate Henry Balding; brothers, Bobby G. Balding, Jr., James H. Balding; sister, Irene Balding; sister in law, Peggy McCurry Balding; brothers in law, Ray Holland, Harold D. Baxter; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 4-8pm at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton & Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 1-2pm at Fairview CP Church. The funeral service will follow visitation, Sunday at 2pm at the church, with Rev. Eddie Malone and Rev. Ronnie Duncan. Interment will be in Doty's Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Nathaniel R. Whaley, Darrel Webb, Donnel West, Jimmy Balding, Dennis Adams, Harry Harness.
