Samuel "Sam" Joe McLain Obituary (1947 - 2017)

Samuel "Sam" Joe McLain, 69, of the Lost Mountain Community, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the VA Medical Center at Mountain Home. He is survived by: 1 sister and brother-in-law: Sue and Hack Starnes of Greeneville; 2 nephews: Robbie and Jennie Starnes of Greeneville, Al McLain of Baileyton; 3 great nephews: Austin McLain, Aaron McLain, Cole Starnes; great niece: Brittani Starnes; sister-in-law: Trish McLain; special companion: his dog, Gizmo; special friends: Dennis and Darlene. He is preceded in death by: parents: Virgil and Ruby McLain; brother: Danny "Rat" McLain. He is a US Army Veteran of Vietnam. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7 PM at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel Downtown with the Rev. Roger Dykes and Rev. Nathan Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery at Baileyton. Pallbearers are Al McLain, Robbie Starnes, Austin McLain, Cole Starnes, Keith Williams, Adam Luttrell, Philip Cutshall, and Nathan Reynolds.
