Greene Sr. and Helen Wood Greene RESIDENCE: Greeneville DATE OF DEATH: Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2009 PLACE OF DEATH: Home TIME AND DATE OF FUNERAL: PLACE OF FUNERAL: INTERMENT: Graveside Saturday at 2:00 pm at Greenelawn Memorial Gardens MINISTERS: Rev David Greene SURVIVORS: Hilda Jean Greene, His wife of 53 years, daughter Rebecca Ann (Greene) Myers and husband David Wesley Myers; two granddaughters, Whitney Leigh Myers and Chelsea Ryan Myers, all of Piney Flats, TN; a stepson the Rev. Dr. Denver Bitner of Rockford, IL; a sister Helen Ruth (Greene) Jones of Morristown; sister-in-law Mazelean Baskett and husband Tom Baskett of Jonesboro, TN; two brother-in-law Ralph Dayton and wife Ruby Dayton of Knoxville and Donald Dayton of Greeneville; three nieces, Mrs. Ray Bradley, Mrs. Mary Ruth Jones of Morristiown, and Mrs, Patricia Knight of Oak Ridge; several cousins; three step grandchildren David, Sara, and Elizabeth Bitner of Rockford, IL. PRECEEDED IN DEATH BY: He was preceded in death, beside his parents; his only brother Henry Tyler Greene Jr. of Oak Ridge (1996) and Henry’s wife, Vera Greene (2001) and their son, Charles Richard Greene (1976); and a brother-in-law J. Ralph Jones ACTIVE PALLBEARERS: Friends HONORARY PALL BEARERS: CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: OCCUPATION: ORGANIZATIONS: Frank Greene was a United States Army (7th) Veteran of World War II and was retired from North American Philips Products (Magnavox & NAP) which was later Philips Consumer Electronics corp. after 36 years of service. He was a member of The First Baptist church from 1943, and a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 64 and the Tusculum College Alumni Association. Frank Greene graduated from Greeneville High school in 1943 and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (B A) from Tusculum College in 1950.
