Billy (Bill) Wallace Reynolds, Sr. Obituary (1928 - 2017)

Billy (Bill) Wallace Reynolds, Sr., 89, of Greeneville, passed away Wednesday night at his home, surrounded by family. An Active member of Victory Church of God, he loved the Lord and taught Sunday school for many years until his health prevented him from doing so. Bill was the founder of Reynolds Auto Parts and a retired fireman, from the Town of Greeneville. A former, long-time member of the Optimist Club of Greeneville, Bill exemplified their purpose, by bringing out the best in all who knew him. Bill was also an avid athlete - playing softball, volleyball, and competing (and medaling) in many Senior Games events. He loved to cheer on those around him, whatever the situation, with a smile and a "Way to go!" Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife of 36 years, Glenna Reynolds; children and their spouses, Patti and John Riblett, of Knoxville, Billy Wallace Reynolds, Jr., and Tammy, of Lenoir City, Doug Reynolds and Ardell, of Greeneville, Belinda Tweed, of Johnson City, Kimberly Dawn Shorb and Charles, of NC; grandchildren, David Dalton, Aaron Tweed, Trey Reynolds, Connie Mullins, Matthew Shorb, Michael Shorb; 7 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; nephew and nieces, Stanley Reynolds, Gayle Matthews, Ginger Goings; many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Verna Reynolds; sister, Clarice Gass; brothers, Buford Reynolds, Buster Reynolds, George Reynolds, J.D. Reynolds; father in law and mother in law, Richard and Ozelle Hayes. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends Monday, September 11, 2017 from 10am-2pm at Victory Church of God, 166 Sanford Circle, Greeneville, TN 37743. The funeral service will follow visitation at the church at 2pm, with Rev. Jim Fillers officiating. Interment will be in Greenelawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David Dalton, Aaron Tweed, Trey Reynolds, Matthew Shorb, Michael Shorb, and Kevin Chapman. Honorary pallbearers are members of the adult Sunday School class at Victory Church of God, and friends of Reynolds Auto Parts.
