Clarence Ray "Papaw" Gass, age 81 of Greeneville passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Signature Health Care of Greeneville. He is survived by his wife: Shirley Gass; Son: Bobby Gass; 3 Grandchildren: Chris Gass, Sarah Gass, Beth & Brian Malone; 2 Great Grandsons: Andrew Malone and Matthew Malone; 1 Daughter in Law: Patricia Gass; 1 Brother: Bill & Janice Gass; Several Nieces and Nephews; Special Niece: Barbara Gibson He was the son of the late Noah & Audra Gass. Mr. Gass is also preceded in death by a Son: David Gass; Sisters: Kate Hendry and Eva Starnes; Brothers: Evan Gass, Hugh Gass, Joe Gass, Max Gass, Junior Gass Mr. Gass worded for Wolf Tree Trimming Service. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7 pm at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Preston Patrick and Rev. Jeff Gibson officiating. Graveside services will be Friday at 11 am in Cross Anchor Cemetery with Nathan Willis, Steven Waites, Keith Gass, Jamie Palmer, Jordan Gibson, and William Jennings serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Turnmire and Dave Harrison.
