Guy Vernon Myers Obituary (1927 - 2018)

Guy Vernon Myers, 91, of the Afton community, passed away Wednesday morning at Laughlin Healthcare. He was a lifetime member of Zion Presbyterian Church. Mr. Myers was in the U.S. Navy and was later employed by Magnavox for over 30 years. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Emma Lou Myers, a sister, Joann Christianson of Hyattsville, Md., nieces and nephews and their spouses: Freda Fletcher and her husband Marty, Curtis Myers and his wife Pam, caretaker and special nephew Dudley Myers and his wife Robyn, BJ Broyles and his wife Nancy, Steve King and his wife Sue, caretakers Amy Davis and her husband Jeff, Teresa Orr and her husband Milton, Debbie Moore and her husband Kenny, Mike Hogan, Robert Harmon and wife Kim, Christine Robelo and husband Paul, sister-in-laws Peggy Seay and her husband Tommy, Frances Harmon and her husband OT, and Shirley Woods of Las Vegas. and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Oleta Myers, his brother and sister-in-law Dale and Madeline Myers, a brother-in-law Norman Christianson, sisters-in-law Trula King, Talma Hogan, and Mary Ann Broyles. Special friends are Dr. Benny Smith and his staff, and Brother Lynn Bowens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel Afton. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Brother Lynn Bowens will officiate. The military will conduct military honors at the graveside service on Saturday at 10AM in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service. Pallbearers will be: Curtis Myers, Dudley Myers, Bart Myers, Wes Myers, Levi Myers, and Luke Myers.
