JD Swanger Obituary (1932 - 2018) - Greeneville, Tennessee

JD Swanger, 86, of Tusculum passed away Sunday, December 23rd, 2018 at his home. He was born and raised in Tusculum. Mr. Swanger was owner operator of Swanger Plumbing for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Nana Ayers Swanger, 2 children: Vickie Rigney and husband Scott of Knoxville, Mike and wife Jamie of Reidsville, N.C. 7 grandchildren: Jason Swanger and wife Terri of Greensboro N.C., Michelle Lott and husband Kyle of Lake Charles Louisiana, Jarrod Swanger and wife Alicia of Knoxville, Katie Hurst and husband Tony of GA, Timothy Rigney and wife Alicia of Spring City, Jacob Rigney and wife Melanie of Jonesboro, Josh Rigney of Knoxville. 14 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Corrine Swanger, Brother-in-law; Jamup Ayers and wife Margaret, Sister-in-law; Nancy Chapman and husband Harold and Gail Ayers. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Bob and Mollie Swanger, 4 brothers, Carl, Robert, TB and Glen, one sister Elvina Shelton, one half-brother Theodore, 2 half-sisters Margaret Roberts and Etta Bible. A special thanks to Caris Hospice, Judi Douthat, Jerry, Joann and Jimmie. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-7PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton. The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00PM in Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton with Rev. Dr. David Greene officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jason, Timothy, Jarrod, Jacob, Josh, and grandson-in-law Kyle Lott Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.
