Judith (Judy) Diana Gray Johnston Obituary (1944 - 2018)

Judith (Judy) Diana Gray Johnston, 74, of Greeneville, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Mrs. Johnston was a most devoted and beloved Moma to her children, Leanna Johnston and Daniel Johnston (deceased) and the widow of Lloyd Johnston. On September 06, 1969, she began her Christian walk of faith with her Lord and Saviour. That walk of faith sustained her through life's many challenges and rewarded her with a multitude of blessings. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Greeneville, where she attended as long as her health permitted. In addition to her son Daniel and spouse Lloyd, she was also preceded in death by her precious fur baby and devoted companion, Amazing Grace Gracie' Johnston; her parents: Albert Earl Gray Sr. and Barbara and Andrew Metcalf Sr.; brothers: Gordon Gray, Phil Gray and Andy Metcalf. In addition to her daughter Leanna, she is also survived by her siblings: Buddy and Wilma Gray, Peggy Palmer, Doug and Brenda Gray, John and Cora Metcalf, Marjorie Darnell, Joe and Bonnie Metcalf and James Cross; brother-in-law: Delmas Turnmire; sister-in-law: Sandra Gray; aunts: Margarette Carder, Yvonne Tarlton and Betty Jones; uncle: Bill Dearstone; devoted caregivers and longtime friends: Kathy Cutshaw, Cathy Cutshaw and Regina Casteel; several nieces, nephews and cousins. It was Mrs. Johnston's and Leanna's wish to sincerely thank Drs. Dee and Kevin Toppenburg, Brenda, Eddie, Lindsey, Misty, Sabrina and Tammy for their many years of wonderful care and support. A gathering of friends will be Friday, July 27, 2018 from 4-5pm, with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 5pm at Burnett's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Joey Tillery officiating. Mrs. Johnston's earthly body will be laid to rest with that of her son and spouse at Burnett's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
