Kenneth "Ken" Hollowell Obituary (1932 - 2019)

Kenneth "Ken" Hollowell, 86, of Greeneville, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his home. Ken was a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He served in the Korean Conflict, where he received 3 Purple Hearts with the 279 Infantry Regiment of the 45 Thunderbird Division. He retired from Pet Milk Company after 37 years of service. He is survived by his wife: Phyllis Hollowell; 3 sons and daughters-in-law: David and Sara Hollowell of Oakland, TN, Ronald and Fran Hollowell of Kernersville, NC, Michael and Joyce Hollowell of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Rachel and Austin Gilbert, Rebekah Hollowell, Ruth Anne and Michael Burch, Melissa and Eric Wallace, Kimberly and Peter Caprara, Chris Hollowell, Matthew Hollowell; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Wanda Schul, Rhodema Spearman; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: H. Carl and Betty Hollowell; 2 brothers: Walter Johnson, Ronald Johnson. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5-7PM at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The graveside service will be held Friday, at 1PM at Mountain Home VA Cemetery, with Rev. Joey Tillery officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50PM. Pallbearers will be Jim Utt, Michael Burch, Austin Gilbert, Charlie Norton, and Doug Congdon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ST.
