Aud Lee Jennings, age 82, of the South Central Community went to his heavenly homecoming on October 17, 2015. He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Jennings and Maude (French) Jennings He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann (Light) Jennings. Two brothers, Thomas Edward Jennings and wife Leona (McCoy) and Ross (Bunny) Jennings. One sister and brother in-law, Geneva S Painter and husband Anis, and One Brother in-law Edd Fellers. Two daughters, Lavada Sue (Pinky) Johnson Ragan, and Infant daughter Maude. Mother and Father in-law, Stella K and Thomas W Light of Johnson City, Tn. 4 Brothers in-laws, Bobby Light of Michigan, Carrol Light of Florida, Bud Light and wife Emma of Florida, Roy Light and wife Inez of Kingsport, Tn. Sister in laws, Margaret Lacy of Johnson City Tn, Ethyl Salyers and husband Hoover of Florida, Betty Payne and husband Herbert (Tag) of Jonesborough, TN, 6 Nephews , David Jennings of Chuckey, Larry Hensley of Florida, David Light of Knoxville, Gordan Light and Robert Light of Kingsport TN, and Jack (J Dean) McCoy of Tusculum, TN. Survivors include 3 sons and daughter in-law, Ronald Jennings of Chuckey, Thomas Jennings and Wife Alonda (Alexander) Jennings of Limestone and Glen E. Jennings of Chuckey. A sister, Anna Lee Fellers of Chuckey, two sisters in-law, Ettie (Hensley) Carter and Betty Jennings of Chuckey, and over 80 nieces and Nephews. 3 Brothers in-law and spouses, Bill and Irene Light of Knoxville, Donald and Beverley Light of Missouri, Ronald and Linda Light of Michigan, 1 sister in-law Lois Shemmerhorn of Michigan 5 Grandchildren Christy Johnson of Greeneville, TN, Tim Ragan of Greeneville, TN, Richard Johnson of Georgia Andrea Jennings of North Carolina, Brian Jennings and wife Felicitas (Korber) Jennings of Nuremberg Germany 8 Great Grandchildren 1 Great great grandchild Aud Attended the Philadelphia Church of the Nazarene in Chuckey, TN where he was a charter member and taught Sunday school for 52 years. He loved to sing specials in the church and dedicated his entire Christian Life to helping those in need at the church and in the community. He was employed for 42 years at the former Magnavox Plant in Greeneville where he retired in 1993. He held his first job at the ripe age of 9 years old at the former Dunbar Pepper plant on Snapps Bridge Rd. in Limestone and stared driving forklift at the age of 12 there at the plant. He loved the outdoors where he hunted ginseng for years. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army, he enlisted in 1956 and served in Germany for 15 Months. Special notes of interest. While stationed in Colorado he served at the same time as Elvis Pressley. At 16 he gave a ride from Jonesboro to Greeneville, TN to the famous country legend, Johnny Cash who at the time was 17 and yes, he was carrying a guitar. Family members and friends that were close to his heart are Mike, Norma, Andrew and Megan Painter, Robert (Bobby) Hensley and wife Alice, Sarah Roberts, Tammy (Fellers) Mays, Pastor Lowell and Kathy Bowens, Erika, Gabriella and Hayley Alexander, Simon Korber, Elizabeth (Garber) and her husband Charlie Campbell, Carol Ann Garber, Jane (Garber) Donk, Larry and Tammy Hensley, Roy and Wanda Norton, Dorothy Wilhoit, Chuck and Sandy Davis and special former pastors for the church, Rev. Jack and Faye Alexander, Rev. Jimmy Barrett and wife Donna, Rev. Dan Stansbury and wife Sharon and all his family on his wife's side through the (Light) and (Gosnell) family, Kevin Shipley and Suzanne Estep. Lastly, two special women whom he considered as daughters, Amy (Conduff) Morgan and Shirley Woodward. Family wishes to give special thanks to the staff of Avalon Hospice and the V.A. medical center. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 PM at Jeffers Funeral Chapel at Afton and 10-11 AM Tuesday at Philadelphia Church of the Nazarene. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Philadelphia Church of the Nazarene with interment in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Lowell Bowens will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Painter, Andrew Painter, Kevin Shipley, Brian Jay, Nicolas Estepp, and Chris Estepp. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee Army National Guard will conduct a Military graveside service.
