Charles Bowers

–

Greeneville, Tennessee

Charles "Chuck" Bowers, 70, of the South Greene Community passed away suddenly at his home on Sept 7, 2022

He was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church where on April 1, 2014, at the age of 62 he accepted Jesus Christ into his heart and was saved. Shortly after that he was Baptized at Horse Creek by Pastor Billy Gragg. He served the church faithfully as a Trustee and he was always willing to help where ever he could. He loved greeting people at the door of the church with a smile. He loved his church family with all his heart.

He was born in West Palm Beach, FL on July 11, 1952. He retired on September 30th, 2010 after serving 36 years in Law Enforcement, the last 30 years as a Deputy Sheriff for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. During his time in Law Enforcement he spent his days off doing ceramic tile jobs. After retirement Chuck and his wife Pam and their 4-legged children retired in beautiful Greeneville, TN, which he always referred to as God's country.

While retired he picked up the skill of scroll saw woodworking. It didn't take him long to perfect this craft and he loved doing this which he considered his retirement hobby. Once he realized that he wanted to share his beautiful crafts with others, he decided to start doing some craft shows where his talent was so admired. And that's when Olivet Mountain Woodcrafts was formed. OM Wood Crafts legacy will continue thru friends who will share his work.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 24 years: Pamela Ann Bowers; a step-daughter Tammy Jackson; three grandchildren: Tyler Jackson, Jordan (Sarah) Jackson (who Blessed Chuck with the news he was going to be a great-grandfather March 2023), and Mackenzie Niston; three sisters: Patricia (Gordon) Steppens, Penny (Gene) Standeven and Marcie (Michael) Russo; Two brothers: Richard (Judy) Bowers and David (Sandi) Bowers; two sister-in-laws: Linda (Rod) Maier and Cindy Chibe; one brother-in-law Charles (Jan) Noble; many nieces and nephews; his dogs that he loved so dearly and so many special friends that Chuck had during his lifetime,

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ray Wayne Bowers and Bonnie Bowers; sister-in-law Patsy Hofman, and his nephew Michael Standeven.

The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church 2320 Old Tusculum Rd. Tusculum, TN on Saturday September 17, 2022. Visitation from 12pm-2pm, Funeral Service to follow and Graveside Service at Greenelawn Memory Gardens, 4159 Asheville Hwy, Greeneville, TN after the funeral service.
