Dahlia "June" Cox Whaley, 81, of the Mount Pleasant Community, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Life Care Center of Greeneville. After a long battle with health, she is no longer suffering, but is resting in the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ.\nJune graduated from Mosheim High School in 1955, and always looked forward to her class reunions and spending time with her classmates. She attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and was active in her UMW as long as her health permitted.\nJune was a lifelong sacrificial servant of others as she followed the example of Christ. This was evident throughout her life at church, and everything else in which she was involved. She was not only the loving mother to her own four children, but she also served as foster mother to several children throughout the years.\nJune was preceded in death by her parents, Jay & Doris Cox; father & mother-in- law Elbert & Eula Whaley; sister-in-law, Phyllis Cox.\nJune will be greatly missed by her husband of 62 years, Howard Whaley; children & their spouses, Roger & Janice Whaley of Maryville, Jeff Whaley and Tim & Teresa Whaley of Greeneville, and Lynette & Jason Bray of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Brad & Erynn Whaley, Brandi Whaley, Joe & Bekah Whaley, Josh & Melissa Whaley; seven great-grandchildren; brothers David & Volena Cox, Lynn Cox, Gary & Nan Cox; sisters Mona & Dwight Myers and Sherry & Mark Baines; in-laws J.C. & Kitten Hensley and John & Linda Whaley; several cousins, nieces, & nephews.\nThe family will receive friends Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church from 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will follow with the Rev. Gail Jenkins officiating. The family asks that memorials be made to the Mt.
