Herbert Unnever Obituary (1934

78, of Greeneville, died Sunday at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after a brief illness. - He was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Stamford, Conn., was a graduate of Stamford High School, and worked for Connecticut Light and Power until his retirement. He married the love of his life, the former Marlene Perrenoud, who died in 2005, and moved to Greeneville where they both volunteered at Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Cecilia Unnever; sister, Virginia Northrop; first wife, Virginia Unnever; and brother-in-law, Peter Canzano. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Scott and Melissa Unnever, Plainville, Conn., and David Unnever, of Simsbury, Conn.; a sister, Dorothy Canzano, of Stamford; two stepdaughters, Donna Trexler of Knoxville, Tenn., and Yvonne Jordan of California; grandchildren, Christena Unnever, David Trexler, Elizabeth Trexler, Jacquie Jordan, and Cindy Foreman; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Ellis Northrop; and best childhood friend and wife, Otto and Nan Haugland, of South Carolina. The Rev. Frank "Buzz" Trexler will be officiating services. -- In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Greeneville-Greene County Humane Society, 950 Hal Henard Road, Greeneville, TN 37743, a passion of his and Marlene's.
