James Roy Tunnel, 69, of Mosheim, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, Friday, May 31, 2019 after a long hard fought battle with brain cancer.\n \nHe is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Ella (Tina) Tunnell; one son, of the home: David Tunnell; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Janet and Scotty Ridley, Amanda and Jeremy Arnold, Jamie and John Diltz all of Mosheim; 9 grandchildren: David Lee Tunnell, Derek and Crystal Tunnell, Logan and Caleb Ridley, Jacob and Hayley Arnold, Tyler Diltz, Alicia Jackson, and Victoria Tunnell; 3 great-grandchildren: Hailey, Madison, and Leann Tunnell; 2 sisters and 1 brother: Sandy Christian, Judy Bailey, and Clyde Tunnell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends: Vicky Manis, and Randy Partin; 2 pet companions: Lucky and Pete.\n \nHe was preceded in death by his parents: George and Ruth Tunnell; brother: Junior Tunnell; daughter-in-law: Amy Tunnell; father-in-law and mother-in-law: G.B. and Ellie Correll.\n \nThe family would like to express a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice and Home Health.\n \nThe family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 2-4PM & 5-7PM at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow visitation at 7PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bob Simpson and Rev. Richard Long officiating. The graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11AM at Brown Springs Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10AM to go in procession to the service. Pallbearers will be Derek Tunnell, Scotty Ridley, Logan Ridley, Caleb Ridley, Jeremy Arnold, John Diltz, Tyler Diltz, and Jacob Arnold.
