Mary "Katie" Helton Kidwell Obituary (2011)

Mary "Katie" Helton Kidwell, 56, Greeneville, died Monday at her home. She attended Midway United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted She retired as a supervisor from Greene Valley Developmental Center after 29 years. She also worked with Greene County Skills and would bring clients home with her and go out with them on their jobs. Mary was an avid sports fan and loved the Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols. She also loved her dog, Sadie. Survivors include a son: Justin Kidwell of Greeneville; two sisters: Jeannie and Ronnie Wills and Judy Helton, all of Greeneville; a brother and sister-in-law: Eddie and Pam Helton of Greeneville; her brothers-in-law: Gary Lane of Mosheim and Frank SanFillippo of New York; four nephews and their spouses: Keith and Debbie Ricker, Jason and Michelle Gray, Chris and Buffi Gray, and Toney Lane; three nieces: Jane Lane, Melissa Lane, and Amanda Fockler; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend: Mary Coakley. She was preceded in death by his parents: Jane and Toney Helton; three sisters: Nancy Chafin, Shirley SanFillippo, and Jo Ann Lane; and two nephews: Marty Helton and Mic Dearstone.
